Ozark Mountain Health Network and the Van Buren County Tobacco prevention program is to eliminate tobacco related health disparities through the development and implementation of tobacco prevention education.

   Through outreach tobacco education presentations in Van Buren County schools, businesses, and community meetings tobacco issues will be identified among rural residents at an earlier, more manageable stage.  Tobacco literacy will improve through educational workshops conducted within our community. This initiative will bring unprecedented results in this rural area. 
    The Van Buren Tobacco Prevention utilizes the T.H.U.G.s (Teens Having United Goals) to promote community involvement and discourage substance abuse prevention.  The T.H.U.G.s represent the three Van Buren County Schools, Clinton, Shirley, and Southside.
